More psychic and not so psychic news from Alison Roberts

I can't believe it's been that long... Surely my last post wasn't two years ago... surely?!

First, an up-date: I am going to be selling the two books seperately from the one hour mentoring as advertised on the web site at http://www.psychictuition.com/ and will post a link to how you can get hold of them. This is great if you want the theory and practical exercises to work through yourself. They are delivered electronically so no postage costs either! I am doing a final edit on both as they are 2 years old now and there's some bits I want to add and take away, so will let you know when they're ready.

Next, the market for all things psychic has been shifting and closing for some time. Personally, I think that this is a good thing!

Partly, because I have never been wholly comfortable with the whole psychic thing anyway (I mean, what's with all those weird eyes and stuff on the web sites, crystal balls etc. Just can't take any of it that seriously!) because it really is such a basic, simple skill that we each have - why make such a big deal out of it....

.... and what's great about the fact that the market is changing too is that it will hopefully open the way for getting this out there in a simple, straightforward way, geared towards a more discerning and mainstream audience. Well, that's the plan anyway.

And did you know that there are top London consulting/change management companies offering spiritual mentoring/coaching alongside their careers advice. Wow, there's an opportunity if ever I saw one, and goes to show that 'mainstream' is really not that far away.

Hurry up I say, I have another book that needs writing!!!!

Update 2: In case no one has noticed, and being in the UK it's something of a rarity - it's staring to get summery! For my money this is the best time of year, sunny but not too hot. The sort of weather that puts a skip in your step, well more of a shuffle in my case, as am now a staggering 46 years old, even though my brain still insists that it's a young 20 year old that only gets slighly forgetful. I have been wondering when and if my body will buy into this too...

Update 3: We moved last July, and are now living by the River in Mortlake, SW London & love it here. Now that we are nicely settled, I can finally turn my (forgetful) mind back to business again - yipee!

Update 4: I will blog more often, I will, I will, I will.....

See you on here again soon,

Alison ;)

I can't believe it!

Was it really May that I last entered something on here?! Things have moved on quite a bit since then...

I am now teaching my seven and a half year old a topic we call MagicMindPower... bit of a mouthful I know but the wonderful John Kehoe http://www.learnmindpower.com/ coined the phrase MindPower before me so we're improvising! I whole heartedly recommend his MindPower for kids if you have them, or the adult version if you want to develop and open up yourself. You can pick up the kids version at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mind-Power-Children-John-Kehoe/dp/0969755171/ref=sr_1_3/026-8222654-3186026?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1185625266&sr=1-3 .

I am using his stuff and some of my own to create a new course for children ages 7 and up. It's designed to help them keep their minds open and explore their sense of identity, use the techniques of visualisation and affirmations to achieve reachable goals (my son had a horrific fear of water and swimming and in 3 weeks of using a variety of techniques he yesterday swam fearlessly almost a width by himself - no armbands or anything!), build confidence and ultimately, realise how powerful they are. I wish they'd had this when I was a kid!

As for me, I am looking at how I can distil the skills I have learnt over the last 20 years into something very clear and tangible. I realise that when I 'read' or connect with someone, all I'm basically doing is blanking myself out, going in through their heart, out through their eyes to see what they see and relaying it all back... simple eh? And the point?

Learning how to open your mind (and keep it that way) gives you a clear sense of Identity, autonomy and a simple set of stepping stones for the future. It breeds confidence, gives you advance warning and gives confirmation that you are on the right track... everything that a 'reading' should and does do.

And lastly, I have answered a burning question that has been with me for the last 10 years or so - by providing myself with concrete proof that life and death are the same - and that death is change. Something I know we all speak about but that up until last month, I didn't know for sure. It has made me feel, well, strange... Elated followed by "ok, what now?".

Enough for today.... If you are interested in the whole life/death thing, contact me - it does me good to talk about it because each time, the words flow clearer and easier. Come to think about it, contact me about anything to do with psychic or mediumistic communication and development - I love it all!

Until next time...

Keep well & happy,

psychic development exercises

Well, here they are at last - the psychic development exercises I promised! If you go to http://www.psychictuition.com and click on the subscribe box, you will automatically be sent a series of six exercises - free! They will be delivered in glorious PDF. Oh, the wonders of modern technology!

I have finished Elaine Aron's book and it was very good. It's probably the most simple categorization I have found for people who are sensitive and want to know more about their traits and how to leverage them without going into a lot of mystical mumbo-jumbo. How refreshing! You can buy her book using the following link - highly recommended - http://www.amazon.co.uk/s?ie=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books-uk&field-author=Elaine%20N.%20Aron&page=1

My new website? Well, it's getting there - a bit of a work in progress but hopefully this week... I'm quietly confident that things are finally coming together!

As a last note on continuing psychic development, I have been on a couple of good forums recently - nothing too wacky - and have met some very nice people. Sign-up is a doddle... They are http://messages.yahoo.com/Science/Alternative/forumview?bn=18934517, http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94720&st=0#entry1669987 and lastly; http://www.mysticfamiliar.com/forum/.

Stay happy!

Highly sensitive people

I have been working my way, very slowly, through Elaine Aron's book. It's really good but it's one of those that takes ages to read as there's so much in it. The basic traits she uses as a guideline are;

Are you easily overwhelmed by such things as bright lights, strong smells, coarse fabrics, or sirens nearby?
Do you get rattled when you have a lot to do in a short amount of time?
Do you make a point of avoiding violent movies and TV shows?
Do you need to withdraw during busy days, into bed or a darkened room or some other place where you can have privacy and relief from the situation?
Do you make it a high priority to arrange your life to avoid upsetting or overwhelming situations?
Do you notice or enjoy delicate or fine scents, tastes, sounds, or works of art?
Do you have a rich and complex inner life?
When you were a child, did your parents or teachers see you as sensitive or shy?

So many of my 'psychic' clients have experienced one or many of these... so look out for the short e-book I'll be giving away which explains the cross-overs and how, as a sensitive/psychic person, we can learn to make the most of our unique skills.

See you back here again soon with some exercises I'm getting ready to help you develop....

It's Easter!

I have been reading lots of stuff about highly sensitive people. There is an interesting asessment on there if you want to find out more. They say that over 20% of the population is highly sensitive and thinking about it, all of my cients are. Is this just another facet or aspect of being psychic? It makes interesting reading and I have ordered Elaine Aron's Book. I'll let you know... Have a great Easter!

Psychic Development - First Blog by Alison Roberts

Over the coming months I am going to be covering all sorts of things that I hope you'll find interesting. Things like all the different research and educational bodies who are actively engaged in expanding people's knowledge of what being 'psychic' means & what's possible as we learn more about them & how to develop them. Hints, tips and stuff I use both when I read people & teach... to help you develop your own psychic skills more, enjoy them and feel safe to expand them further. New stuff; things I'm working on like the two books I have just finished, how accreditation for my courses is coming along and lots more...
